Masik Kalashtami 2024: The festival of Kalashtami is held every month on Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of Krishna Paksha (moon phase).
Kalashtami is also known as Bairashtami because of the devotion to Kaal Bhairav (Bhairav Nath), who is considered to be the fierce form of Lord Shiva.
On this day, special worship is offered to both Lord Shiva and his incarnation Kaal Bhairav, who is believed to be the fifth incarnation of Lord Shiva.
It is believed that performing proper rituals and worshiping Lord Shiva and his form Kaal Bhairav on Kalashtami day will fulfill all the desires of the devotees and liberate them from all the difficulties encountered in life.
It is also believed that worshiping Kaal Bhairav will lead to success in tantra and mantra practice, and this worship is performed during Nishita Muhurta (midnight).

As per the Hindu calendar, the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha is believed to begin on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:44 am and end the next day, on May 31, 2024 at 11:44 am and 9:38 am. The fast will be observed till May 30, 2024.
Masik Karashtami Puja Vidhi
On the morning of Kalashtami, wake up at Brahma Muhurta (early morning), clean your house, do your daily routine and take a bath.
It is recommended to light lamps and burn incense when performing morning puja in your home temple or prayer area and when worshiping Lord Bhairav Dev.
On this day, besides Lord Shiva, the entire family of Lord Shiva should be worshipped.
