K2 Roots moves to new location with wellness club

A downtown State College juice shop is moving to a larger location that will also include a wellness club founded by two Olympic medal-winning wrestlers.

K2 Roots On Sunday, it closed its doors after three years at 109 S. Fraser St. and was preparing to move to 114 S. Garner St., the former location of Bar Bleu. Vitality Wellness Clubwas founded by former Penn State wrestler David Taylor and Nittany Lion Wrestling Club member Kyle Dake.

According to a post on K2 Roots’ website, the move will result in longer hours and an expanded menu of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, bowls and paninis. Facebook pageThe owner of this store is Taylor. He recently became the head wrestling coach at Oklahoma State University.and his wife, Kendra.

No opening date has been set, but the company suggested in social media posts that the transition period will be short.

Vitality Wellness Club, meanwhile, According to the company’s website, the facility is “dedicated to helping people achieve total wellness through relaxation and cutting-edge treatments.”

The club will feature facilities such as a cycle studio, hyperbaric chamber, kakum water therapy, infrared sauna, cold water immersion therapy and compression therapy.

Various membership plans and packages are available on the club’s website.

Taylor was a two-time NCAA champion at Penn State and went on to win three world titles and an Olympic gold medal, and is also the owner of M2 Training Center in Pleasant Gap.

Dake, a four-time NCAA champion at Cornell University, won four world titles and a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games. He will join the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club in 2022 and represent the United States in the 74 kg weight class at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
