Justin Timberlake told police he’d just had one martini after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the Hamptons early Tuesday morning. Earlier that night, the former NSYNC singer had met with friends at the celebrity-favorite American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

The Daily Beast confirmed to a source with knowledge of the night of his arrest that Timberlake enjoyed a Vesper Martini from the hotel’s cocktail menu, which also included an Aperol Spritz and a Hemingway Daiquiri.

“It’s all alcohol,” the source said. “No mixers.”

Vesper, named after the sexy double agent Vesper Lynd, created by author Ian Fleming for his fictional James Bond, is made with wine-based aperitif Lillet Blanc, Tanqueray gin and Grey Goose vodka shaken over ice.

Cocktail blogger Moody Mixologist points out that the drink is “not for the faint of heart,” as the original recipe contains “a whopping four ounces of booze.”

“It’s no exaggeration to say that this martini has twice the alcohol content of other cocktails,” the blog states, “so keep that in mind when mixing your cocktail.”

It’s unclear how much alcohol Timberlake, 43, consumed that night, but authorities say he refused to take a breathalyzer test three times.

The “Cry Me a River” singer was charged with drunk driving and released without bail on Tuesday, to which he pleaded not guilty.

His lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., said: Us Weekly“He refused a breath test and therefore only one charge was filed. Timberlake was also charged with two counts of disregarding a stop sign and failing to stay in the correct lane.”

Police said Timberlake was stopped in his 2025 BMW at 12:37 a.m. for running a stop sign and failing to “maintain in his lane.” According to the criminal complaint, Timberlake appeared intoxicated, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. He is also accused of failing field sobriety tests.

One source said: Page 6 The arresting officer “was so young he didn’t even know who Timberlake was.”

Timberlake, who is in the middle of his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” told police he was following a friend home. The Grammy Award winner’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 26.

Burke’s office said Wednesday that the celebrity lawyer “looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations.”

“He will have more to say at the appropriate time,” they said. “He is currently awaiting full discovery by the District Attorney’s Office.”

One witness said, New York Post Timberlake was apparently “intoxicated” at the hotel bar and even stole someone’s drink while he went to the bathroom. When the man returned, post The songwriter had reportedly been downing a drink.

An observer recalled: “The guy said, ‘Justin, that’s my drink!'”

Meanwhile, the owner of the American Hotel says he’d love for Timberlake to return anytime. Ted Conklin told TMZ that the former boy band star was a “great guest and a good guy” and insisted he wasn’t over-served at the hotel.
