A beautiful and deeply spiritual outpouring, Joy Oladokun’s achingly intimate Questions, Confusion, Faith is both a heartfelt elegy to a friend and a vulnerable reflection on life itself.
“Question, Chaos, Faith” – Joy Oladokun

I’ve traveled the world searching for songs, girls, and God…

a A beautiful and deeply spiritual outpouring of soul, Joy Oladokun’s latest single is both a heartfelt elegy to a friend and a vulnerable reflection on life itself.

The Nashville-based singer/songwriter ponders what it means to be alive and where to leave here.doubts, confusion and faith”, a soul-stirring song that sums up Oladokun’s philosophy about who we are, or at least who we are, into three pillars.Nothing is certain, everything changes, we are souls and bones marching to the grave.” Oladokun sings in his intimate, unwavering voice. “There is no answer. There is only doubt, confusion, and belief…”

Questions, Chaos and Faith – Joy Oladokun

We will never have all the answers to life’s big questions, such as why we are here, what happens to our souls, or the existence of a higher power. But in this very special four minutes, Oladokun seems to have made peace with some people. He realizes his own inner demons, accepts what he cannot change or know, and pays homage to his deceased close friend.

She sings openly and freely, her diary lyrics painting a powerful picture as warm acoustic guitar and lush orchestral strings create breathtaking harmonies around her.

When my friend Casey passed away
I didn’t drive home for the funeral.
I was bowing down, as they say to a higher spirit.
I went to the dormitory and cried.
Because I still believed in heaven
And I was sure I’d never see her if I died
nothing is certain
everything changes
we are soul and bones
march to the grave

there is no answer
There’s only doubt, chaos, and faith

“One day in two weeks, I wrote Questions, Chaos, and Faith, and I told everyone I worked with on it to leave me alone,” Oladokun says. atwood magazine. “Although the past few years of album releases and touring have been great, it’s happened so fast that I haven’t had much time to reflect. ‘Questions, Chaos, & Faith’ is a great way to spend time playing video games and touring. I spent a lot of time watching documentaries on YouTube and realizing that I can’t escape my sadness.”

“This song is special to me, not only because it pays homage to an old friend, but also because I took on the challenge of writing and composing it alone. I wanted to make sure that every word and sound came from my heart. The process was therapeutic, I think.

bought a zombie game
I only play during the day
It’s evolving, but it’s still a little scary.
I’m scared of the end of my days
Sometimes I swear I see them coming
But everyone around me
still running the race

“Questions, Chaos & believe” is a powerfully cathartic release that brings us closer than ever to Oladokun, who dips his toes and dives headlong into the deep waters of life.

Although this song itself does not depict her directly struggling with God or religion, you can imagine the long path she took to get to where she is today. In a sense, this song is a very heavy reflection, the aftermath of the emotionally intense journey that Oladokun had to walk alone.

“I don’t know what I believe about life after death,” she posted last week. She said, “I know that Casey Hayes made a desert town feel like a garden in this world, and made an outcast feel like a place of their own.”

Nothing is certain, eeverything changes

Oradokun bridges the spiritual and material with joy

I have loved, lost, and found another way to carry on…

With all the doubts, confusion, and faith, there is no guarantee that Oladokun will ever see his friend again. The song is thus a permanent and lasting tribute to a special light in her life, and as much as it helped Oladokun write this song, now that it’s released, it’s a permanent and lasting tribute to a special light in her life. It can be healing and helpful for those who are grieving as well. .

Because ultimately “Question, Confusion, Faith” reminds us that we don’t have all the answers and don’t know what’s going on in this life. We either accept these truths and try to live our best lives, or…well, we don’t want to consider the alternative.

Thank you, Joy Oladokun, for this sweet and moving song.

i have traveled all over the world
Searching for songs, girls, and God

I cut my tooth and bruised my jaw.
I learned to admit when I’m wrong
loved, lost, found
Another way to continue

It doesn’t make much sense at the moment
It might become meaningless if I’m gone
nothing is certain
everything changes
we are soul and bones
march to the grave

there is no answer
There’s only doubt, chaos, and faith
