Jessica Biel’s exact workouts, exercise routines: Pilates, circuits

Jessica Biel knows a thing or two about health. In addition to her career as an action star, she appeared in films such as: Blade: Trinity and total recallthe actress is also the founder of KinderFarms is a plant-based children’s health company. But even she didn’t understand what was happening when she got her period for the first time at age 11.

“When it actually happened to me, I thought I was going to die,” she tells us exclusively women’s health. “I literally was like, ‘This is it. Great job, 11 years!'”

That’s why she partnered with the nonprofit organization PERIOD.write children’s books about periodsIt provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the menstrual cycles of families around the world, including Jessica’s family. (The Minnesota native has sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4, with her husband Justin Timberlake.)

She hasn’t sat down with her kids enough yet to talk about birds and bees, though. just Still, they are already interested in her pads and tampons. And Jessica senses a bigger conversation will happen in the future (perhaps with the help of a book).

“Just because you don’t menstruate doesn’t mean you’re not interested in menstruation or your body,” she says. “We create a very calming, normalized feeling around this work. So if I had a chance to read this book with him, I think he would think, ‘Wow. You think, “This is kind of cool and weird and wonderful.”

But that’s not the only time Jessica has been open about her family’s health.of candy The star has a passion for Pilates and sometimes works out with her children and husband.

Because Cyrus is older, she sometimes does a modified version of the couple’s workouts. But for their second son, Phineas, Jessica and Justin are trying to teach him the importance of stretching before breaking a sweat.

“We said, ‘Okay, Finny, let’s straddle him and see if he can touch his toes! We need to warm up before we train,'” Jessica recalls.

To relax, the actress also loves hiking, snowboarding, and meditation. Here’s everything you need to know about Jessica Biel’s fitness routine.

Jessica uses Pilates to increase mobility and reduce pain.

Lately, Jessica has been incorporating Pilates into her main training routine, which she says benefits her strength, joint and ligament health.

“When I was in my 20s, it was important to me how well I could bench press and how sore my shoulders were. Now, those things don’t matter as much to me,” she said. “What’s important to me now is freedom of movement. I don’t want to live with pain.”

The boy’s mother, Jessica, said the boy would be in “different positions”. Therefore, it is especially important to focus on “lengthening and strengthening”.

“I want to feel good inside,” she says.

In between her Pilates sessions, Jessica also enjoys circuit training at the gym, hiking, and snowboarding in the winter.

She focuses on reducing weight before big events.

When Jessica goes to the gym, she relies on working out with 10- to 15-pound dumbbells, especially before big red carpets like the 2024 Met Gala. These include tricep pushdowns and lat pulldowns, as well as hip thrusts, leg curls, planks, and more.

She also commits to incorporating lots of bodyweight exercises like squats and lunges, and drinking plenty of water.

“We’re just thinking about moving fluid around the body to make everything tense, lean, and strong,” she explained. “Once the pain and swelling occurs, it takes a few days to return to its normal state, but then the lactic acid buildup changes the way your clothes fit. [Those exercises] This is to make it less painful. ”

Working out is a family event.

For Jessica, teaching her sons the importance of staying active is very important. “We work out a lot together,” she says.

The boys train in home gyms near their parents and sometimes even take part in sweat sessions. The couple’s trainer, Ben Bruno, will guide Cyrus through a modified version of Jessica and Justin’s routine, and his youngest son, Phineas, will join in on some stretching and treadmill walking.

“He’ll give Cyrus what he’s doing, what Justin’s doing, what I’m doing,” she says. “It’s a lot of fun because we’re all doing it together.”

For Jessica and Justin, it’s all about teaching their sons the importance of physical activity so they can live “a vibrant, strong and healthy life as they age.”

Plus, like Justin’s love of golf, they’ve let their sons indulge in their passion as well. “They’re a little bit interested sometimes, but sometimes they’re a little slow,” she admits.

She incorporates vegetables into her diet whenever possible.

Jessica also values ​​a balanced diet. Although she is the founder of the plant-based company KinderFarms, her family themselves are not strictly vegetarian or vegan.

“We were talking about it yesterday and Justin said, ‘Do kids need to eat more vegetables?'” she recalls. “I was like, ‘Yeah, but everyone needs to eat more vegetables! Everyone in the world.'”

The actress said they try to stick to lean, sustainable meats, local produce, healthy starches, and “the occasional treat.”

“We keep it pretty simple,” she added.

She uses meditation to center herself.

Being a writer, entrepreneur, actress/producer, and full-time mom can be a little difficult at times, so Jessica also incorporates meditation to round out her wellness routine.

“I love taking those moments for myself,” she says. “There are some books that I read while doing little spells. I love thinking carefully about something that inspires me, even if it’s just two minutes for her or five minutes for her.”

She also added that she calls being outside her “church” and practices mindfulness while walking or hiking.

“For me, it’s really a time of self-reflection,” she says. “But it’s not perfect and it’s not always perfectly balanced. So I’m still working on it.”
