Worship musician Jeremy Riddle was arrested at the Arise Shine Conference at Michigan’s Radiant Church in early May after he was accused of emotionally abusing a former staff member at his residence in the battleground of Anaheim, California. Removed from the lineup.

A statement on Arise Shine’s Instagram page reads: “After prayerful consideration between Jeremy, Katie Riddle, and Radiant Church, it has been decided that Riddle will not be participating in this year’s Arise Shine Conference.” was announced.

Riddle was the worship pastor and board member of Vineyard USA’s flagship church, Dwelling Place Anaheim, formerly Vineyard Anaheim. Mr. Riddle resigned from Dwelling Place in January after a tumultuous few years for the church, led by Pastor Alan Scott.

In November 2022, former members of Vineyard Anaheim Church sued Scott, Riddle, and other executives, accusing them of fraudulently removing Dwelling Place from the Vineyard movement.

And in November last year, an independent investigation jointly commissioned by Causeway Coast Vineyards and the Vineyard Church of Great Britain and Ireland (VCUKI) found that Mr Scott, while serving as a vineyard chaplain in the UK, had mentally and mentally abused staff. It was determined that there was a high possibility of abuse.

Riddle said at Dwelling Place’s January church service that his decision to leave was not a “disassociation” from the church. Rather, the riddles decided to obey God and preach a “season of consecration” and a “message of repentance.”

Last May, T.R.R. Published an exclusive exposé documenting numerous allegations of abuse by Scott.for T.R.R. According to reports, drummer Noah DeBolt and his wife, DeBrianna, said Riddle told the DeBolts to step down from their roles after the DeBolts expressed concerns about Scott’s coaching.

Since then, Noah DeBolt has released two videos explaining the alleged emotional abuse by Riddle and Scott.

Last week, he and other former Dwelling Place staff members spoke out against Radiant Church pastors Caleb Culver and Lee Cummings at an Arise Shine conference following allegations of emotional abuse. They appealed for Mr. Riddle to be removed.

Cynthia Andrews I wrote to X She said she came to Riddle “in tears” about Scott’s emotional abuse.Andrews previously said: T.R.R. About Scott’s pressure-filled relief quotas and discrimination against certain body types for staff. However, Mr Riddle reportedly told Mr Andrews to remain under Mr Scott’s guidance.

“[Riddle]dismissed my concerns about spiritual abuse, described Alan as an apostle and a prophet, and suggested that enduring such treatment was the price of resurrection,” Andrews said. I wrote to X last week.

DeBolt initially posted that he had personally asked Culver and Cummings to remove Riddle. But when they said no, Mr. DeBolt made his request public, he said.

“I have personally asked @Calebculver and @leemcummings to reconsider having Jeremy Riddle as a speaker and worship leader at an upcoming synod,” DeBolt said. I wrote to X. “They said no. So we wanted to ask the question publicly. Jeremy has manipulated and abused many people under his management and has yet to repent.”

T.R.R. Mr. Cummings and Mr. Culver have been contacted for comment.Mr. Cummings mentioned T.R.R. In response to a statement on the conference website, it was the same as the statement on Instagram.

DeBolt provided: T.R.R. Text messages with Culver and a recording of a phone call to Culver yesterday asking him to remove Riddle.

On April 12, Culver wrote that he had decided to allow Lee and Riddle to lead the conference’s worship.

“While it’s probably a shame to still have him leading the charge, I think it will give me a chance to talk to Jeremy about this issue and I think it will be helpful to be able to (sic) speak frankly,” Culver wrote. ing. .

DeBolt responded via email, disputing that he paid Culver to platform Riddle.

“Would you all please change your mind on this matter?” DeBolt asked. “What’s especially confusing is that you want to have a frank conversation with him, but doing so means rewarding his actions by acknowledging your position. His actions. If you feel there is a problem with him, the strongest message you can give him is to remove him from your platform.”

Culver was previously affiliated with the International House of Prayer Kansas City (IHOPKC) and has posted various concerns on social media about the church in turmoil.

“Future generations need to see examples of godly, Biblical leadership repenting with victims and rectifying the situation, not 24/7 prayer without acts of justice,” Culver said. Stated. I wrote to X About last week’s IHOPKC.

Mr. DeBolt claimed knowledge of Mr. Culver’s abuse in defense of former IHOPKC employees.

“I understand why other ministries would support him (like Jesus Image), but I’m confused here because I think Lee and Caleb genuinely care about the people harmed by IHOPKC,” DeBolt said. he said. “Yet they perpetuate the same ‘boy’s club’ and ‘defend the abuser, not the abuser’ ideology in their churches.”

The X account, called Nameless Faceless Prophet, urged Cummings, who verified Tammy Wood’s testimony about her alleged abuse by IHOPKC founder Mike Bickle, to shepherd the case as well.

“@leemcummings — Yesterday I saw you publicly verifying Tammy Wood’s testimony about abuse by Mike Bickle.” she wrote. “Why are we ignoring victims of abuse when our own networks are being negatively affected? If the victim is a friend and there is a massive public outcry, speak out against abuse online It’s easy. It doesn’t cost anything. But being a shepherd means 1. Prioritizing the injured. 2. Using your position to advocate for the voiceless. 3. No matter the cost. It means claiming responsibility.”

Woods said Bickle sexually abused her starting when she was 14 years old. She said Woods is also scheduled to speak at the Arise Shine Conference in early May.

In a phone call yesterday, Mr. Culver said he was still learning about the situation and did not believe a decision or resolution had been reached on the claims with Mr. Riddle as the litigation continued.

DeBolt said in a phone call that he is not a party to the lawsuit, has other concerns, and has not been authorized by Dwelling Place to conduct a truly independent investigation.

Riddle originally planned to speak about his worship ministry at the conference.

“Jeremy will share his experiences as a worship leader, the journey the Lord has taken him on, and what living a life of devotion looks like,” the conference schedule originally stated.

In January, Riddle told the congregation at Dwelling Place that she didn’t know exactly what she would do next.

“This is a transition into stewardship of a message and ministry that we feel the Lord has imprinted on our hearts, but we don’t know the details of what that looks like,” he said. I did. “There are many unknowns about this, but we believe that as a couple we must give this message and this service our full and undivided attention as part of our obedience to what the Lord has said.” I feel very strongly. We needed to enter the season of consecration again.”

But Riddle said he did not want his resignation to destabilize Dwelling Place’s ministry.

“We don’t want any part in the destabilization here,” he said. “We don’t see this as a disconnection from this home or any home the Lord has called us to serve. It’s not a disconnect. It’s a new relationship with this home. It’s just a matter of fact.
