Tampa, Florida – The Jackson In Action 83 Foundation, in partnership with the Florida Blue Foundation and the Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation, is pleased to announce its newest program, “Mind Masters,” a free wellness workshop for entering middle school students on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Skills Center.
The inaugural event will focus on mental and emotional wellness and feature keynote speaker and mental health advocate Nate Evans Jr. and renowned psychologist and executive coach Dr. Nekeshia Hammond offering advice to parents on managing their children’s emotional wellness.
“We are excited to introduce our Mind Masters program, a project we have been diligently developing since Vincent’s untimely passing,” said Lindsay Jackson, co-founder of the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation. “Our approach is thoughtful and sensitive, focusing on the delicate yet important issue of youth mental health. With this initiative, we are proud to go beyond our traditional focus on military families and extend our support to all of Tampa’s youth, ensuring everyone has the resources they need to thrive mentally and emotionally.”

The workshop will be aimed at youth who will be in grades 6-8 in the 2024-25 school year and will include:
- Opening remarks by former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Ali Marpet, who is pursuing a doctorate in psychology.
- Keynote speech by Nate Evans Jr. on the importance of youth mental health.
- Age-specific breakout sessions led by Evans and the Tampa Bay Framework.
- Interactive therapy sessions including yoga, art therapy, pet therapy, photography and physical movement.
- A morning session for parents with Dr Nekeshia Hammond will provide tools and insights to support your child’s mental wellbeing. Parents will receive a copy of Dr Hammond’s latest book, Mindset Training: Conquer Your Mind and the Rest Will Follow.
The event also marks the third anniversary of Vincent Jackson Day, which honors the legacy of the foundation’s co-founder, who tragically passed away in 2021. Aug. 3 was chosen to celebrate and remember the beloved former NFL player who proudly wore the number 83 on his jersey.

The Jackson In Action 83 Foundation invites all middle school students and their parents to this impactful event to promote mental health and foster a community of support for Tampa youth.
