Raising doubts on the issue, Singh said, “Is PM Modi not following the law and rules?” and asked the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to respond on the issue.
In response to X-user Kapil (@kapsology) pointing out that PM Modi had released a picture of the meditation hall inside the Vivekananda Memorial despite the fact that taking photographs is prohibited and punishable by law, the party leader said, “Thanks for pointing that out. Does Narendra Modi not follow laws and rules or are rules not applicable to him? PM please reply.”
“This is the first time I am seeing pictures of the meditation hall inside the Vivekananda Memorial. Taking photos here is prohibited and punishable by law. But what is ‘camerajeevi’ without a camera?” said user X.

He also shared a screenshot of the photography rules in X’s post, which read, “Photography rules while visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial are strictly restricted as it is a protected and sensitive area. Taking photos or videos inside the monument is not permitted as it is prohibited by law and is punishable. Taking photos or videos outside the monument or from the ferry is possible only with prior permission from the authorities. Please also respect the privacy and dignity of other visitors and do not disturb or harass them with your camera.”
Modi arrived in the coastal city of Kanniyakumari in Tamil Nadu on Thursday and began a 45-hour meditation at the Vivekananda Rock-cut Memorial, which is scheduled to conclude on Saturday evening.
He began meditating at the Dhyana Mandapam, the spot where revered Hindu philosopher Swami Vivekananda is believed to have had a divine vision of ‘Bharat Mata.’ According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati also meditated on one leg at the same place while waiting for Lord Shiva.
PM Modi offered prayers at the Bhagavati Amman temple before going into meditation after the climax of the campaign for India’s Lok Sabha elections.
Kanniyakumari is the southernmost point of India, where the east and west coasts of India meet, and where the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea meet.
