Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations of the 10th International Yoga Day at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. This year’s event highlights the profound impact yoga has on the minds and bodies of young people. The celebrations aim to unite thousands of people in the practice of yoga and promote health and wellness on a global scale. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society”, highlights the vital role yoga plays in promoting both individual happiness and social harmony.

Since 2015, the Prime Minister has led the celebrations of International Day of Yoga (IDY) at various iconic locations including Kartaviya Patho in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysore and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This year’s celebrations will be held across India with a notable event being ‘Yoga for the Universe’ where all ISRO centres and units will conduct programmes on CYP (Common Yoga Protocol) practices. Globally, embassies and Indian missions abroad will participate in the celebrations, reflecting Yoga’s widespread influence.
