Inside the newly renovated spa at Ibiza Gran Hotel

Ibiza Gran Hotel opened in April, once again welcoming guests to indulge in the luxuries of the White Island, and continuing the theme of pampering, unveiled its revamped spa.

A haven of wellness, the Open Spa offers over 1,300 square metres of space for guests to relax and indulge. Marina Hernández, Assistant Director of Apa, said: “The Open Spa at Ibiza Gran Hotel has been conceived to offer hotel guests and the public an exclusive wellness sanctuary unlike any other in Ibiza, where both guests and members can indulge in personalized body, mind and soul experiences and treatments whilst immersing themselves in a truly rejuvenating space, disconnected from the outside world.”

Designed for ultimate rejuvenation, the spa is made up of four areas – Ritual, Aqua Spa, Gym & Wellness and Open Beauty – that all work together to pamper the body and mind. Creative Director Sandra Tarruella, who led the renovation, wanted to unify the spaces to create a connected, inviting and tranquil environment, from the reception and shop to the beauty salon, gym and water and wellness areas. “It creates an elegant atmosphere that is in keeping with the rest of the hotel, while at the same time providing the sense of calm, relaxation and connection to the earth that is so essential to a spa.” She says.

Natural materials such as stone, wood, lime paint and clay were used for a soothing aesthetic. “In the lobby, a large trellis made of handcrafted ceramic bricks welcomes guests and serves as a backdrop for the counter and shop. The small furniture in this area is made from natural wood. A light-colored stone floor leads guests from the lobby to the different areas of the open spa.”

A must-visit is the Aqua Spa, with its natural light, soothing sounds and comprehensive water circuit: heated whirlpools, bithermal showers, a revitalizing ice lounge with ice fountain, hammam and sauna.

The spa will also feature leading brands such as Anne Semonin, Skeindor and Seaskin Life, each specially selected for their unique qualities. “We chose Anne Semonin for its rejuvenating properties, Skindal for its scientific approach and Seaskin Life for its holistic Mediterranean wellness. This way, we cater to all our customers’ needs.” Marina says:

As for the extensive menu of treatments, the spa reflects the spirit of the island and, as Marina says, the space is “Drawing on Ibiza’s rich Mediterranean heritage, we will be incorporating brands that reflect the authenticity and quality of the region to create a wellness experience that stimulates the senses.” She continues: “Combining cutting-edge science with luxury, each treatment is designed to address diverse skin and body needs.”

Speaking of the spa’s signature treatments, Marina recommends the signature treatment by Anne Semonin called Good Elixir Deluxe. “It’s a luxurious experience that includes a 24-karat gold facial and back massage with gold balm and gold hot stones. The treatment is formulated with peptides, low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid and pure 24-karat gold to plump the skin, reduce the size and depth of wrinkles, tighten pores and stimulate collagen synthesis to improve skin texture, firmness and elasticity.”
