Imlay city — Imlay City Community Schools (ICS) held its second annual Spring into Mental Health & Wellness event at Imlay City High School on Saturday. Staff from across the district worked together to plan an event that brought together local organizations to promote mental and physical health.

“We want to ensure that all students, families, and community members are aware of the many resources available to them and their families,” said Dina Tallis, ICS Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. ”. “Events like this allow us to build positive connections with local families and members of our wonderful community in a fun and educational way.”

Over 120 participants attended the fair’s festivities. Lunch was a Tri-City hot dog and dessert was Kona Ice. After enjoying a free lunch, families can visit vendor tables and learn about how local organizations support the community. Indigo Lavender Farm, Imlay City Family Clinic, Lapeer County Community Mental Health, Lapeer County Health Department, Hispanic Service Center, and Lapeer County Great Start Collaborative & Family Coalition will be providing some free merchandise during the event. We were ready to share our services, including: .

The children visited several stations and were able to do crafts and jump on the bounce house. The fair’s sensory table and physical wellness station, where students received free skipping ropes, were also well received.
