CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, there will be a number of local, state and national events aimed at raising awareness of the challenges faced by the millions of Americans living with mental health conditions.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), one in five adults in the United States experiences a mental illness, and 4.9 million people do not receive the care they need.
This week on 22News InFocus, we speak with several local organizations that provide mental health services and programs to individuals and families in need.
