Sprouts are a nutritional powerhouse that offer numerous health benefits. Sprouts are young germinated seeds or legumes that are packed with essential nutrients, including vitamins (A, C, K), minerals (iron, calcium, magnesium), antioxidants and enzymes. As such, they are beneficial for your overall health, boosting your immunity, improving digestion, supporting detoxification and heart health. Sprouts are low in calories and high in dietary fiber, helping you feel fuller and aiding in weight management.
Eating sprouts every day can be extremely beneficial for your health. According to Rama Shrivastava, nutritionist at Mothercare Hospital, here are 8 benefits you can get by including sprouts in your diet: (Image: Canva)

How to grow bean sprouts at home
To make sprouts at home, you can start with seeds or legumes like mung beans, alfalfa, chickpeas, or lentils. Rinse them thoroughly and soak them in water for a few hours or overnight. Drain and rinse again, then place them in a sprouting container or jar covered with a breathable cloth. Rinse and drain the sprouts twice a day and store them in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Depending on the type of sprouts, they will be ready to eat after a few days. They are crunchy, fresh, and packed with nutrients, making them perfect for adding to salads, sandwiches, stir-fries, or just enjoying them as a healthy snack. (Image: Canva)
