Actor, host, entrepreneur, and author Valerie Bertinelli is currently in the era of culinary queen. In a recent interview with People magazine, Bertinelli talked about how jalapeño poppers became one of her favorite recipes, and revealed how much she loves the dish. She remembered the moment she ate her first “insanely delicious” meal after years of dieting as a “personal victory.”

Bertinelli revealed her love for jalapeño poppers in her newly published cookbook, Indulge. The cookbook author had to join Jenny Craig’s diet and weight loss program after frying jalapeño poppers, only to realize she was ‘eating them for the wrong reasons’ He revealed that it was common.
“In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever ‘tasted’ it,” Bertinelli writes in her book. “So including this recipe is kind of a personal victory,” she added. In a recent interview with People, the hot Cleveland alum revealed that she no longer holds back on what she loves.
“I have to watch my calories, so I’m thinking about what I want, not what I eat,” Bertinelli said. She also revealed that the treats, which she calls poppers, are wrapped in bacon and stuffed with a mixture of three types of cheese. This recipe is also part of Bertnelli’s newly published third book.
“I’m addicted to it,” Bertinelli wrote of poppers. “So should you,” she added. Bertinelli, who turned 64 on April 23, opened up about her lifestyle in an interview with The Washington Post in February. “What didn’t work for me was living my life based on a number, because whatever that number was, it wasn’t enough,” she said at the time.
Bertinelli also said that the years leading up to her 64th birthday were marked by strict dietary rules, including watching her calories, hating the number on the scale, and pursuing purity at the expense of pleasure. He also said. She decided to turn things around from there.
Valerie Bertinelli’s Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

Materials needed:
- 4 ounces room temperature cream cheese
- 2 ounces (about 1/2 cup) freshly shredded smoked Gouda cheese
- 2 ounces (about 1/2 cup) freshly shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons.finely chopped fresh
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice and 1 1/2 tsp. Grated lime zest (1 lime)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- Half a teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
- Cut 8 medium jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove seeds.
- 8 pieces bacon, cut in half lengthwise
recipe:
- Set oven temperature to 425°. Place foil on a baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, Gouda, cheddar, chives, lime zest, juice, salt, and pepper.
- Distribute the cream cheese mixture evenly between the jalapeño halves, being sure to press the mixture to the top edges.
- Place the stuffed jalapenos, stuffed side up, on the prepared baking sheet. Wrap the end of the bacon around the bottom of the jalapeño and tuck it under the jalapeño.
- Bake for 16-18 minutes or until the cheese mixture begins to bubble and the bacon is crispy. Let cool for 10 minutes before eating.

Valerie Ann Bertinelli is a famous American actress and media personality. She got her first big role as a teenager on the sitcom One Day at a Time (1975-1984), playing Barbara Cooper Royer. After starting dating financial advisor Tom Vitale in 2004, Bertinelli announced her engagement to him in May 2010. She married on January 1, 2011 in Malibu, California. From her marriage to Vitale, she has four stepchildren.
