But after trying it, I discovered that it offers many benefits, including improved balance, strength and grace, endurance, and the mind-muscle connection.

Jakarta-based Pilates instructor Mira Hassan is recommended for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Her demonstrations are great, but what really impresses me is her careful and precise instruction. Even if I’ve done the same move countless times, her explanations always bring something new to focus on or teach me how to make it more challenging. Her 30-minute full-body Pilates classes will get your heart rate up and your muscles trembling – no equipment required.
Jessica Valante Pilates
Jessica Valant is a licensed physiotherapist and Pilates instructor who has had prolapse and abdominal surgery herself, so has particular knowledge of exercise for these conditions.
Her classes incorporate plenty of challenging moves, but beginners can choose easier versions of each exercise, and she doesn’t do much upbeat chatter, focusing instead on helpful, concise instructions. I like to start my day with her 30-minute full-body Pilates routine.
Tracey Mallett
Tracey Mallett is a Pilates master who has been teaching Pilates for over 20 years. Her classes are a joy to watch. Not only are her instructions informative and helpful in perfecting your alignment and technique, but she’s also great company. She makes it seem like no matter how many pliés, squats, and sit-ups you do, you’ll never feel like you’re doing the right thing. there is nothing.
Her five-minute sessions are perfect for between Zoom meetings or to wake you up in the morning, and her ballet classes are the best. She currently posts most of her new content to Instagram, but you can also find a great catalogue of videos on her YouTube channel.
