Millions of people around the world splurge every day on expensive products that claim to turn back the clock.

But according to one skincare expert, there are three budget-friendly hacks to keep your skin looking youthful, plump, and wrinkle-free.

Dr. Mahsa Saleki of SAS-Aesthetics said one of the most important tips is to use aspirin on the skin.

According to Dr. Saleki, aspirin contains “pure salicylic acid” and acts as an exfoliant and anti-inflammatory agent.

And since you can get a pack of 16 aspirin for 30p at Boots, you can use this hack to buy a pack for just 3p.

However, it is important to perform a patch test first to ensure that aspirin does not cause a reaction on your skin.

Dr. Saleki also shared the biggest skin care mistakes people make when it comes to working out.

First of all, if you like outdoor training such as running or walking, don’t forget about SPF.

“Exercising outdoors without sunscreen can accelerate skin aging,” she says.

“UV rays destroy collagen and elastin, causing premature aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

“It can also cause hyperpigmentation, making your skin look dull and aged.”

“Sweat, dirt, and bacteria can build up on the surface of your skin during exercise, and if left unremoved, it can clog your pores,” she explained.

“Clogged pores can become inflamed and infected, leading to the development of acne.”

One of the biggest mistakes Dr. Saleki often sees is women wearing makeup to the gym.

“When you work out and sweat, makeup can mix with sweat and oil and clog your pores,” she says.

“Breakouts can occur because trapped debris and bacteria can cause inflammation and acne.

“Additionally, makeup creates a barrier on your skin that can prevent sweat from evaporating properly.

The importance of sunscreen cream in skin care

Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez, better known as Dr. Dray, reveals why you should wear sunscreen.

One thing you can do to make the biggest difference, Andrea stressed, is to protect your skin from the sun, which is important for all ages.

“A big part of external aging is due to UV exposure,” she continues, and not because “you’re not using some fancy serum or layering 90 different things on your face every day.”

“If you haven’t done it in your 20s, do it now.”

But using sunscreen alone isn’t enough, she says. In addition to not being out in the sun for too long, Andrea recommended wearing sun-protective clothing, such as a wide-brimmed hat and long sleeves.

Doing this throughout your life, not just in the summer or on sunny days, will “reduce the visible signs of photoaging,” says Andrea.

These are wrinkles, irregular pigmentation, and sagging skin.

“This can trap bacteria and toxins on the skin’s surface, causing further skin problems.”

Finally, Dr. Saleki asserted that one of the biggest skin care tips to follow is to “keep your skin moist.”

“One of the important functions of water is to flush toxins from the body,” she explained.

“When you are properly hydrated, your body is better able to eliminate waste and toxins through urine and sweat.

“But if you don’t drink enough water, these toxins can build up in your body and cause a variety of skin problems, including acne, inflammation, and dull skin.”
