The ‘reverse aging’ woman who starred in Rihanna’s Fenty campaign reveals her secret to youthful skin in her 70s – keeping her skin clean and glowing
The 72-year-old model, who is flooded with comments such as “amazing” and “cool” every day, has revealed her anti-aging secret.
With so many products on the skincare market and social media flooded with hacks and techniques to make your face look flawless, it can be difficult to decipher which tips are best. But not everything works for everyone. Some people are obsessed with hyaluronic acid, others don’t miss a face mask every night, and some rely on cleansing tools and facial rollers.
Looking years younger than her age, model Joani Johnson embraced her “ageless” look and walked the catwalk for the first time at age 65. People say she “looks amazing.” The fashionista said she believes the key to maintaining her youthful skin is “both internal and external effort.”
Joani, from New York, USA, believes her three-step skincare routine helps with anti-aging. The jewelery designer had a lot of skin care issues when she was younger, including her breakouts and spotty oily spots, she told British Vogue. But even though she’s perfected her routine over the years, she rarely sees her skin get irritated.
The New Yorker, who previously appeared in Rihanna’s Fenty campaign, stopped wearing makeup after menopause, a change she doesn’t regret. Furthermore, she added: “During menopause, I stopped wearing makeup because I thought it didn’t suit my hot flashes well. Over time, with hormonal changes, my skin became drier and affected by seasonal and climate changes.” I noticed that I was becoming more susceptible to ”temperature changes. ”
Joani has ditched make-up and stuck to a three-step routine, and has been repeatedly praised on her Instagram page for being “so beautiful” and “beautiful.” Her simple routine includes a “good cleaner,” toner, and moisturizer, she says.
Joani makes sure to wash her skin properly every day because “our environment leaves a lot of residue on our skin every day.” But her model-perfect look comes with a hefty price tag, as she swears by her three premium products.
This model uses S’Able Labs Qasil Cleanser, 28 lbs. Oat-based products are “easy to deeply cleanse and hydrate your skin,” she says. Boots has her £11.99 product similar to the one the model uses. Inkey List Oats Her Cleansing Balm is said to support the skin’s moisture barrier, reduce redness, and soothe inflammation.
To tone her skin, she enjoys S’Able Black Seed Toner to “reduce pores and clear skin.” Her price is £35. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, iHerb has Advanced Clincials C-Glow toner, which contains the same vitamin C and ferulic acid as Model Enthusiast. Price is £9.55.
The fashion and skincare lover finishes off her routine with S’Able Baobab Moisturizer (priced at £50) for hydration. “This moisturizer absorbs quickly and leaves skin glowing and supple all day long,” she added.
This product contains tranexamic acid, which is praised by skin care experts and beauty brands for its ability to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and sun spots. Superdrug has an alternative moisturizer with tranexamic acid that you can try for £7.99 – the brand’s Me+ Niacinamide moisturizer is said to help brighten and balance skin.
Joani treats herself to a face mask while drinking tea. The designer swears by drinking herbal tea to protect her skin and prevent wrinkles and fine lines.
She explained: “I try to maintain a proper vitamin regimen. I take vitamin C, vitamin D3, zinc, turmeric, and ginger. I supplement any nutrients I may be lacking as recommended by my doctor. We focus on
