Indian Defence Accountancy Service (IDAS) Officer Trainee 2023 Pro Defense
Pune: Officer trainees of Indian Defence Accounting Service (IDAS) batch of 2023 visited National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) “Nisarg Gram”, Pune on Saturday (July 13). The visit was part of their training curriculum at National Academy of Defence Financial Management (NADFM).
Nisarg Gram is India’s first government naturopathic hospital, inaugurated by the Prime Minister in February 2024, with 250 beds and a multidisciplinary research and extension service centre.
NADFM is a central training institute under the Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence, which imparts training to IDAS officers selected through the UPSC examination.
It is also accredited by the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions (NSCSTI) under the Commission on Skill Development, which is a part of Mission Karmayogi.
The visit to Nisarg Gram was organised to promote the all-round development of the officers by exposing them to different fields and disciplines.
During the day-long visit, the officer trainees participated in fascinating sessions and demonstrations by naturopathic experts and learned about various natural healing techniques, dietary and lifestyle interventions recommended by the institute.
This practical experience has given me valuable insight into integrating naturopathic approaches with conventional health practices.
Prof. K. Satya Lakshmi, Director, NIN Pune, conducted an enlightening session on the principles of naturopathy and the intricacies of lifestyle-related diseases.
Her expertise focused on a holistic approach to health and wellness, emphasizing the integration of natural healing methods and conventional medical practices.
Dheeraj Dharamchand Gugare, Joint Director, NADFM, Pune, emphasised the importance of such visits for the personal wellbeing and overall professional growth of staff. He said that IDAS staff often manage large projects as financial managers and budget controllers and such diverse experience is invaluable.
The National Naturopathic Institute is known for its expertise in naturopathic medicine and research, and this collaboration with NADFM highlights the Institute’s commitment to fostering partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange among various professional groups.
