BEAUTY fans have shared the lifestyle changes they’re making to give their skin a more youthful appearance.
She explained that the change made a huge difference, even after she stopped using Botox.
Reddit user Geronimojuju shared the anti-aging tip in a post.
“I’m 47 and both my brother and sister have used fillers and Botox,” she says.
Her siblings had been undergoing treatment but found it was not helping her.
“I noticed that when I stiffened one part of my face, other parts would ‘worsen’ to compensate, which looked odd to me,” she said.
Instead, she explained that cutting out alcohol is what has made the biggest difference to her skin.
“I quit drinking seven years ago and I can honestly say it has had the biggest effect on my face!” she said.
“Yoga and walking can make you feel more toned and refreshed overall, or simply more confident and accepting of your body.
She added that given the drawbacks of Botox and fillers, it was even better to be able to forgo them.

“As a result, I started receiving attention from younger men (which I didn’t reciprocate) and I noticed people were surprised at my age. [assuming] I am 10 years younger.”
People agreed that pursuing a more natural approach to anti-aging has made a big difference.
“You need to quit drinking. It really does amazing things for your skin,” one commenter agreed.
“At the moment I’m trying to slowly cut down on my drinking. I tried it once for four months and it did wonders for my skin.”
“I’m a 53-year-old woman and I’ve been taking care of my skin since I was a teenager,” one woman said.
How alcohol ages your skin
Experts warn about the harmful effects of alcohol on the skin and the ageing process.
Nutritionist Jairo Rodriguez spoke to Vogue about how it impacts the cell turnover process.
“Alcohol is actually one of the most vicious and powerful compounds that can wreak havoc on your skin,” he says.
Drinking at least two alcoholic drinks a day can wreak havoc on your skin, liver and pancreas.
This is because alcohol causes dehydration and inflammation, which drys out and irritates the skin, he explained.
“Like any organ, the skin has the ability to regenerate,” Rodriguez says.
“If someone quits after 15 to 20 years of sobriety, that’s great, but can they get their skin back? [that of] “A normal 50-year-old? Once you destroy collagen, it’s hard to get it back.”
“I absolutely believe in skin care, but I’ve decided to forgo Botox and fillers in favor of a more natural approach to ageing.
“I’ve been avoiding the sun for the past few years, but that’s hard when you live in Arizona.”
They added that after abandoning cosmetic surgery, they replaced it with fitness training.
“Increasing my training routine is something new,” she said.
“I’m not really a fitness fanatic, but I can say it has a huge impact on my overall appearance.
“I have noticed fewer wrinkles and my skin looks much healthier and smoother. I have never had cosmetic surgery and have no desire to.”
