Even my 12 year old can make it with minimal supervision.

As I was stocking my freezer with quick breakfasts for the summer holidays (like microwaveable breakfast sandwiches and air fryer pancakes for my teenage years), I found a new product at ALDI that I just couldn’t resist trying.
Mama Cozzi’s Biscuit Crust Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Pizza seemed like just the right easy breakfast option that would not only provide a break from busy summer meals, but that the kids would also enjoy, so I grabbed a few slices and put them in the freezer. When I finally popped one of the breakfast pizzas in the oven and fed it to my family, I knew I wanted to keep it on hand all summer long.
Why my family loves ALDI breakfast pizza
Breakfast pizza is considered a Midwestern staple (most famously, Casey’s General Store pizza), but if you’ve ever made it yourself, you know how much work it can be, especially on a weekday morning. That work gets doubled when the kids are home for summer break and you’re still trying to get work done.
Mama Cozzi’s version takes less than 20 minutes to pop in the oven and bake, and while the back of the box suggests placing it directly on a rack and baking at 450°F for 14 to 18 minutes, I found that baking it up to 18 minutes gave me a crispier crust and more golden cheese on top.

As promised, the crust was somewhere between a crust and a biscuit, firm yet soft with a crispy bottom and a buttery layer in the middle, and the sauce was like a country-style gravy, creamy, peppery, and loaded with mild breakfast sausage.
The pizza is spread with three types of cheese, which gives it a delicious mix of gooey texture and caramelized flavor when cooked. Some ALDI stores also sell a pork belly, bacon, peppers, and onions version, but we didn’t like it as much as the classic sausage and cheese version (it was a bit oily).
How to eat this breakfast pizza
One pizza was plenty for the four of us, so since then I’ve alternated between having just the pizza, or having it with scrambled eggs and fruit (to feed friends coming over for the summer).
The best thing about Mama Cozzi’s Biscuit Crust Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Pizza, besides being delicious and easy to keep on hand, is that my 12-year-old daughter can cook it herself with minimal supervision. That means she can feed herself when she’s up late and I can take a break from cooking three meals a day this summer. Plus, because the pizza bakes directly on the rack in the oven, cleanup is minimal.
