The hypno-reiki sessions were aimed at small groups of women and were led by hypnotherapist Andrea Fagenholz and reiki master Jessica Stone. We were guided through visualization meditation and received Reiki instruction from practitioners Andrea Fagenholz and Jessica Stone. My experience was so surreal that I booked a private session to delve deeper into this form of mental, physical, and spiritual healing.
Below you will learn what happened when I tried a private Hypo Reiki healing session. (Plus, a quick refresher on the background of both hypnotherapy and Reiki.)
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a mindfulness practice that differs from other types of meditation primarily because of its different goals. “Meditation clears the mind and promotes stillness,” Fagenholz says. “Hypnosis is based on intention. We want our mind to regenerate and communicate with us through images, colors, symbols, emotions, etc.”
While in a hypnotic state, you are more open to suggestions, thereby making amazing real progress and changes more likely. “It gives you more direct access to your subconscious mind, which is otherwise heavily guarded,” Fagenholz says. So, if you’ve been resisting some kind of change, consciously or subconsciously, by tapping into this state, your therapist can examine your emotional triggers and help you “change your patterns, behaviors, beliefs, or the way you feel.” ”I can help.

Fagenholz uses a visualization style of mediation, using images “as a means of communication” to guide clients. Hypnosis heightens the senses, so some people simply visualize, while others “smell, taste, and feel.” “The more you connect emotions, feelings, smells, sounds, and previous positive experiences to your communication, the stronger your communication will be and the faster you will reach your desired outcome,” she says. Mental, emotional and physical changes.
What is Reiki?
The roots of this practice come from Eastern medicine. “Reiki is an energy healing method that originated in Japan,” Stone says. “Essentially, your body is ‘tuned’ to be more precise in key, like a guitar, and when that happens, your mind, body, and soul work in harmony and become more conscious.” creates a presence. ”
During a Reiki session, your practitioner uses energy to adjust your vibration. Theoretically, the result of adjusting this vibrational frequency (and finding energetic balance) can lead to improved physical, mental, and spiritual health.
What is Hypno Reiki?
Why did you combine these two practices? “When the mind is in a hypnotic state, the subconscious mind receives healing energy without resistance. Combining both practices provides long-lasting results,” says Stone. says. It’s effective and allows clients to connect more deeply. ”
I have found Hypno Reiki to be a powerful self-care treatment that combines energy work, anxiety release, quiet time, meditation, self-reflection, and relaxation all in one. During the first group session, I finally started seeing colors. I wasn’t imagining the color. It was like the color was painted on the inside of my eyelids. However, there was no light in the room that really had that effect on my eyes. The room was completely dark, but somehow there was an explosion of deep, rich cerulean and royal blue, indigo and amethyst; in my eyes.
The same thing happened in my private session, but to a stronger degree. Here’s how that session took shape. First, Fagenholtz wanted to learn my vocabulary, so we had a long conversation about assessment. This allowed her to set goals for the session and also highlight what words would stand out to me when I was in a subconscious state. (We chose “Clarity.”) At the same time, Stone was able to assess my energetic needs, and by communicating that to me, she knew what I wanted from this treatment. It helped me clarify what I needed.
After the consultation, we were moved to a room with a heated massage table bed in the center and soft blankets on top. I took off my shoes and lied down, finding a relaxing position. From there, Fagenholtz began counting backwards to put me into a hypnotic state. She told me to stare at a focal point on the ceiling and close my eyes for odd numbers and open my eyes for even numbers. Once the countdown was over, Ms. Fagenholtz walked me through her guided breathing technique before doing a quick body scan. After entering the hypnotic state, the meditation portion lasted approximately 20 minutes.
During a meditation session, Stone administered Reiki to me while I was in a hypnotic state. She moved from chakra to chakra and balanced each frequency to balance the vibrations in my body. Fagenholtz used images of each chakra’s color in her meditations while in each chakra. I could actually see colors in certain chakras, and sometimes I would feel a tingling sensation, like having hot water poured over me, even though I wasn’t in physical contact with anything in the room.
After Fagenholtz kicked me out of the session, motioned for me to open my eyes, and finished my meditation, we discussed my experience. Immediately after the session, I felt calm and calm, and the effects didn’t just last that day.
Fagenholz sent me a recording of our session so I could take it home with me so I could recreate the hypnotic state myself. And as a result of the lessons I learned from reading Reiki, I have tried to trust my spiritual intuition, use my mind a little more, and pay attention to my creative energy. The insights I gained about energy blocks and how to potentially overcome them informed how I have made certain decisions.
If Stone says this, “Insight, growth, inner stillness, and self-understanding” are the main takeaways from this practice, which I call the Triumph of Hypno-Reiki Mindfulness.
