New recipes vetted by millions are just a few swipes away on TikTok. The platform is replacing traditional cookbooks, making it easy to discover new favorite dishes through short videos.

From baked feta pasta to healthy bread and ice cream to spicy sushi, try these recipes that are trending for a reason – you won’t be disappointed.

What’s going on with food trends on TikTok?

TikTok has become the go-to tech platform for everyday people to share and go viral with anything from dance moves to unique food recipes. The rise of TikTok has encouraged people to share their inventive creations online. Sometimes, these inventions spread around the world in an instant. By trying to recreate these viral recipes in their own kitchens, users are discovering the joy and magic of cooking and the unconventional ingredient combinations that result in delicious dishes. Well, in most cases, that’s the case.

Discovering Baked Feta Pasta

This baked feta pasta recipe, which has been going viral online and continues to be popular ever since, was created by Finnish food blogger Jenni Heilinen. It was shared on TikTok by Mackenzie Smith and has garnered millions of views and become popular in the US and other countries. The beauty of this dish is its simplicity and how little effort you need to make a delicious, comforting meal.

To make baked feta, place the feta in the center of a baking dish, then arrange the tomatoes and garlic around it. Pour in oil and bake until the tomatoes pop and the feta is golden brown. Mash (this will be your pasta sauce) and add cooked pasta, pasta water and seasonings. There you have it: a quick and easy dish that’s delicious and hassle-free.

Protein Obsession

Health and wellness are trending on social media, with protein-packed recipes taking over. The obsession with protein stems from its ability to satisfy appetite, keep you fuller for longer, and fuel your muscles. Protein bread, a healthy take on traditional white bread, is a huge hit among TikTok users as it can be easily substituted into any meal.

One way to make protein bread is to skip the flour altogether and use ingredients like protein powder, egg whites, baking soda, and baking powder. Despite the lack of flour, this recipe still produces a delicious bread with the perfect texture, and it’s not only packed with protein, but also low in carbs.

Healthy Ice Cream Alternatives

Strawberry Chocolate Greek Yogurt Bark has become a TikTok sensation as a healthy alternative to ice cream. This recipe calls for plain Greek yogurt, strawberries, chocolate, coconut oil, and honey.

First, if you want your yogurt to be sweet, add chopped strawberries and honey to it. Then, put the mixture on a baking sheet to make small loaves. Place it in the freezer for an hour and when you are ready, melt the chocolate with coconut oil. Dip the loaves into the chocolate, making sure each one is coated with chocolate, then place them back on the sheet to harden.

There’s plenty of room to get creative. Finally, add toppings like different fruits, nuts, and sea salt. You may notice a pattern in the most viral TikTok recipes of all time: they’re easy to make and don’t require a ton of ingredients, but still taste great. If you want a sweet, crunchy, light alternative to ice cream, try this Strawberry Chocolate Greek Yogurt Bark.

Satisfy your sushi cravings with Sushi Bake

Sushi bake is an old Hawaiian favorite that was made popular by TikTok, becoming a food trend with millions of views. Sushi bake is essentially a sushi casserole. Instead of wrapping the ingredients in nori, the ingredients are layered on a plate and baked. They are then cut into squares and plated on top of the nori. The best part is that you can customize the recipe with your favorite ingredients.

To make the sushi bake, first place cooked rice in an oven-safe dish. On top of that, layer avocado slices and crab sticks tossed in spicy mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until the top layer is golden brown. Then, place the sushi bake on top of the nori seaweed and enjoy this hearty and healthy meal.
