Community Hospice and Palliative Care Center, located on Horsham Road in Horsham Township just across the Montgomery Township line, is looking for volunteers to help serve patients with end-of-life care and specialized medical care.
If you are 18 years or older, you can volunteer at Wellness Hospice and Palliative Care, located at 1427 Horsham Road. You must meet the application requirements. Email [email protected] I’m interested in volunteering.
Volunteers visit patients, tell stories, play games, laugh together, read books and sit outside.
According to a press release, volunteers can make a big difference by spending just one hour every other week.
For those who can’t meet in person, there are other volunteer options: Volunteers can knit, sew or crochet lap blankets or memory bears, according to the center.
According to the center’s website, hospice is a comprehensive approach to end-of-life care that provides emotional, spiritual, physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Palliative care includes specialized medical care focused on improving the quality of life and comfort of patients who are seriously ill or facing complex medical decisions.
Wellness Hospice and Palliative Care also offers grief and caregiver support.
