Hoi An’s Wafaifho Resort redefines tech wellness for tourists with innovative health and spa programs

Set to open on September 1, Wafaifo Resort in Hoi An, Vietnam, will unveil an ambitious three-phase health and spa programme aimed at significantly enhancing wellness, spa and medical services for tourists in the region.

Utilizing cutting-edge health technology and international partnerships, the resort will offer visitors to the Hoi An and surrounding Da Nang areas access to a range of wellness and spa services not previously available in central Vietnam.

Epigenetic Testing:
Starting September 1, guests at the new 134-room lifestyle resort can use the Wellness at Wafaifo facility to undergo a comprehensive health check with epigenetic testing. The process involves the analysis of hair follicles by an S-Drive computer connected to a laboratory in Germany. Within minutes, guests receive a detailed report of more than 30 pages assessing 800 personal markers.

Results are displayed in graphs and linked to reports on the guest’s gut, circulatory and immune systems, categorising items as ‘Priority’, ‘Recommendation’ or ‘Consideration’. The centre’s medical consultants review these results with the guest and offer further insight and guidance.

“The report is a quick and effective way to get an overview of the underlying issues.” Thanh Nguyen, Spa and Wellness Director at Wafaifo, said: “The report will suggest a plan of action to resolve the issues affecting the health of our guests.”

Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber: The resort’s new wellness center offers sessions in the AirPod hyperbaric chamber, which delivers highly concentrated oxygen and hydrogen. This exposure promotes healing processes in the body, slows the aging process, improves focus, boosts energy and stamina, and aids recovery from jet lag and stress.

Infrared sauna and ice bath: The center also features an infrared sauna that lowers blood pressure, promotes detoxification and aids in weight loss. Hygienic, electronically controlled ice baths lower blood pressure, improve circulation, flush toxins and reduce inflammation and swelling.

Sleep Technology: Enjoy the Nu Calm Sleep and Recovery Experience in your room, using a headset, eye mask and specially designed “anti-gravity” chair to induce a meditative state of wellbeing and deep relaxation.

Advanced Gym and Personal Fitness Consultant: Wellness at Wafaifo boasts the most advanced gym in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Hoi An. Personal fitness consultants are trained on the center’s Precor gym equipment to help guests get the most out of their time.

International Partnerships: Wafaifo Resorts offers world-class spa treatments in partnership with Kerstin Florian for body treatments and facials, and Margaret Dabbs in London for luxury manicures and pedicures.

Wafaifo Resort announced the second phase of its innovative, tech-enabled health and wellness offerings in August, with the third phase planned for early 2025.
