Hickory City Schools has announced the appointment of Christy Gwinn as the new Director of School Nutrition. Gwinn has over 20 years of school nutrition experience and will serve as the School Nutrition Director for Hickory City Schools beginning in 2022.

In his previous role, Gwynn consistently exceeded expectations on annual performance reviews and demonstrated exceptional efficiency in executing his job, the school system said in a news release. He developed and implemented a comprehensive training plan for managers to ensure they met professional standards and complied with local, state and USDA regulations, the release said.
“Gwynn’s commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality, customer service and community partnerships has contributed greatly to the success of Hickory City Schools’ nutrition program,” the release said. “Her focus on providing balanced, nutritious meals and a pleasant dining experience for students has not only met but exceeded expectations, setting a high bar for the future,” the release continued.
