Who was Nirmal Singh Maharaj aka Chattarpur Wale Guruji?
Guruji, also known as Chattarpur Wale Guruji or Shukrana Guruji, is believed by his devotees to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He was born as Nirmal Singhji Maharaj in July 1952 in Dugri village, Punjab, and remains a powerful spiritual presence to this day.

Guruji enjoyed spending time with saints and sages and gained spiritual knowledge by becoming disciples of many of them.
Guruji imparted spiritual knowledge and guidance to people throughout his life. He inspired his disciples to walk the path of love, kindness and compassion and told people that all religions are the same and that all people are children of God.
He moved around from Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Delhi and Mumbai before finally settling in Jalandhar.
In the 1990s, Guruji also built a Shiva temple in the Bhati Mines area of Chhatarpur, known to devotees as Bada Mandir. Guruji’s samadhi is now housed in the mandir. Guruji passed away in May 2007.
