A digest about healthy eating and living
“The apple in your hand is the body of the universe.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Happy New Year and welcome to the 4th installment. Healthy Living Guide! 2023 was an exciting year for the Department of Nutrition, as we celebrated the opening of the Thich Nhat Hanh Center for Public Health Mindfulness. In keeping with its name and location, the Center is committed to studying how mindfulness can be applied to improve well-being at a collective level, not only for individuals but across large groups around the world. Mindful eating and its impact on the health of individuals and the planet is a central focus of the Center and an integrated theme throughout the Center this year. guide.
You’ll also find research highlights and tips related to our annual categories of nutrition, physical activity and sleep, including the latest findings on ultra-processed foods and mental health, listening to music and moving with Zumba, and evidence on different sleep “chronotypes” and health.
Wishing you a healthy, fulfilling, and compassionate 2024!
