Morgan Hill’s annual Family Health & Wellness Resource Fair is back and better than ever. All five days of workshops, exhibits and activities will be held May 14-18 at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill.

Cricket Rubino, Chair of Morgan Hill’s Senior Advisory Committee, said: “This fair is a great collaboration between the City of Morgan Hill, the Chamber of Commerce, the School District, and the Senior Advisory Committee. We want them to know about the resources.”

“This is also a great opportunity for local businesses and nonprofits to showcase their services that focus on various aspects of health and wellness for people of all ages,” said Morgan Hill Parks and Recreation Commissioner Harpreet Vittal. ” he added. He had more than 300 families attend last year’s resource fair. We expect a good number of participants again this year. ”

The full range of health and wellness workshops during the fair includes Mental Health Awareness and “Health and Wealth: The Myths and Realities of Retirement Life.” May 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “Digital Reputation and Cyberbullying” May 15th, 6:30-8pm. “Drug Use/Prevention Awareness and Suicide Prevention” May 16th, 6:30pm – 8:00pm. And a blood drive at the Stanford Blood Center will be held May 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional workshops include “Powered by Plants: How to Prevent Chronic Disease, Lose Weight, and Feel Better with the Power of Plants.” May 17th from 10am to 11am. “Shopping on a Budget: Learn Tips to Save Money While Eating Healthy and How to Prepare Meals for a Family of Four for $10” May 17, 2-3:30 p.m. . “Mindscapes, Mocktails and Music” is a paint party celebrating brain health and creativity on May 17th from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The Health and Wellness Resource Fair will be held May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where families can learn about community resources such as the CalFresh Healthy Living Program, insurance services, housing resources, dental and counseling services, and fitness and wellness coaches. Masu.

“Today, South County families are busier than ever,” said Anna Bielecki, supervisor at Morgan Hill Senior Center. “Our resource fair is like a ‘one-stop shop’ with a variety of health and wellness resources at your fingertips.”

The Kids Zone provides a space for children to burn off their youthful energy and express their creativity with arts and crafts activities.

The Department of Veterans Affairs provides information about benefits available to veterans of all branches of the U.S. military.

“Older adults in our community often face the challenges of making ends meet on fixed incomes, living alone, and dealing with serious illnesses,” Bielecki said. “At the fair, you can find information about health care, food, housing, transportation, and social activities.”

Fair attendees can get in the mood with music and dancing led by City of Morgan Hill Recreation Coordinator Chiqui Mejia and her Chiclets dance team. Other performers include youth choirs, solo singers, and jazz bands from Morgan Hill Unified District (MHUSD) schools.

Many event activities are designed to encourage intergenerational participation. “We need opportunities like this where students and their families can spend time together and explore community resources that support a healthy lifestyle,” said Julie Duran, MHUSD Student Engagement Services Coordinator. Masu.

Food trucks will be on hand and delicious food, ice cream and drinks will be available for purchase.

Admission to the resource fair is free, and like any good fair, there will be raffles, giveaways, and prizes.
