New Delhi [India]May 27 (ANI): The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) will be hosting ‘Pharmaceutical Research in Ayurvedic Medicine and Technological Innovations (PRAGATI-2024)’ on May 28 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
“The event will focus on exploring research opportunities and fostering collaboration between CCRAS and the Ayurvedic pharmaceutical industry,” the Ministry of Ayurveda said.
The conference will also focus on leveraging research findings and technologies developed by CCRAS. The main goal is to unleash the full potential of Ayurvedic actors in drug and device development by connecting researchers with industrial partners involved in manufacturing Ayurvedic formulations and innovations.
Key discussion points include building a strong network for collaboration in quality control, pharmaceutical standardization, product development and validation.
The event will identify potential industrial partners with in-house R&D facilities and explore capacity building opportunities for researchers in pharmaceutical manufacturing and product development.
Additionally, it also aims to help Ayurvedic experts set up start-ups and incubation centres and promote entrepreneurship in Ayurvedic pharma.
The Secretary, Ministry of Ayurveda will inaugurate the programme and the Director General, CCRAS will lead an interactive session to highlight the importance of research-based, quality, safe and effective Ayurvedic products.
According to the AYUSH Ministry, representatives from 35 pharmaceutical companies, including CEOs of companies like Himalaya, Emami, Baidanath, Dabur, IMPCL, Arya Vaidya Sara, Ushadhi and IMPCOPS, will be present at the event. Experts from organisations like CII, Ayush Excil, PCIMH and NRDC will also be present.
A document detailing 35 formulations and three devices (such as Ayush 64, Ayush SG and Ayush Gutti) that CCRAS has developed or is in the process of developing will be presented for discussion and review.
The expected outcome of PRAGATI-2024 is to identify potential industrial partners willing to collaborate with CCRAS, exchange scientific knowledge and leverage research findings and products in the development of Ayurvedic medicines. This initiative will enhance networking and collaboration among organisations, ultimately benefiting Ayurvedic clinicians and patients. (ANI)
