Breanna Ghiotto of Lakefield describes herself as a “hippie at heart” and has always believed in living in communion with nature and in relationship with the environment.
Now a Body Neutral Certified Yoga Teacher and Certified Yoga Nidra Guide, she strives to help others connect with the world around them by making yoga and meditation welcoming and inclusive for all.
Believing that “yoga can be done by anyone, any body,” Ghiotto shares free instructional and educational videos about yoga and meditation experiences on her YouTube channel, “Mind Your Mindful,” for people who may not be able to afford to attend classes.
Lake Hippie also offers affordable digital downloads, and Guiotto is available to book as a facilitator for private retreats, often teaming up with others in the community to lead restful experiences.

On Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ghiotto will host a Balance and Align Day Retreat with Laura Dunford of Sweet Flowering Yoga and Wellness in Peterborough. The retreat will be held at Sarovara Yoga in Bob Cajun, overlooking the tranquil bay of Pigeon Lake, where participants will be inspired, relaxed, and prepared to practice mindfulness in nature.
“We hope participants will have the opportunity to rest, to reflect and to really connect with themselves,” Ghiotto says.
During this experience, participants will take an experiential journey through the chakras (energy centers of the body) as facilitators weave in different elements of each chakra, from asana to yoga nidra, while sharing a space of community and connection. A nutritious lunch provided by Wild Woman Ayurveda, another local women-owned business, is included.
Retreats range in cost from $150 to $200 and are limited in space and can be booked at thelakehippie.ca/products/balancealign .
