Georgia ranks among the worst states for mental health care

ATLANTA – A new study ranks Georgia among the top 10 states with worst mental health care in the United States.

20.78% of the U.S. population has a mental illness, which equates to more than 50 million people. Nationally, 45.3% were receiving treatment, 71.8% reported having their needs met, and 89.2% had insurance.

Medical cannabis experts at Leafwell analyzed data from Mental Health America to identify the states that provide the worst care for people living with mental illness. Researchers determined each state’s score using her three factors: Adults suffering from AMI (mental illness) and receiving treatment. Adults with AMI who reported having their needs met and adults with AMI who had health insurance.

At the top of the list are Alabamathe score is 61.43/100. In the state, 797,000 adults suffer from mental illness. Of these, only 37.6% are receiving treatment, leaving 478,000 people without treatment. 82.1% have health insurance, but only 64.6% say their needs are met. Overall, Alabama has the worst mental health support in the nation.

The second one is arizona,score 61.87/100. Of his 1.34 million people living with mental illness, 854,000 are not receiving treatment. Only 36.5% actually receive treatment, the second lowest rate nationally. Furthermore, only 64% reported that their needs were met.

texas Mental health care ranks third worst in the United States, with a score of 62.23/100. Only 78.6% of adults with mental illness have health insurance, the second lowest rate in the nation. 37.7% received treatment and 70.4% had their needs met. A total of 3.83 million people in Texas live with a mental illness.

Next on the list is the score 63.67/100 teeth nevada. There are 508,000 people in the state with mental illness. The percentage of people who answered that their needs were met was 62.4%, which was the second lowest. 90% had medical insurance and 38.6% received treatment.

with a score of 64.7/100, wyoming is in 5th place. The insurance coverage rate for people with mental illness is just 75.3%, the lowest of any state. 72.8% have their needs met, but only 46% receive treatment. A total of 103,000 people in the state are struggling with mental health.

In 6th place, Kansasthe score is 64.8/100. Of the 560,000 adults with mental illness, only 64.2% have their needs met. 82.5% had medical insurance, and only 47.7% received treatment.

Number 7 on the list is georgia,score 65.23/100. Of the state’s 1.4 million adults with mental illness, 82.6% have health insurance, 70.9% have their needs met, and 42.2% receive treatment.

Next on the list is the score 65.5/100teeth Indiana. The state has the lowest rate in the nation of adults with mental illness who say their needs are being met, at just 61.2%. Moreover, only 48.8% received treatment. There are 1.1 million adults with mental health issues in the state, and 86.5% of them have health insurance.

The ninth is floridathe score is 66.3/100. Of the 3 million adults living with mental illness in the state, 86.4% have health insurance, 70.9% report having their needs met and 41.6% are receiving treatment.

In 10th place, colorado,score 66.63/100. Among adults with mental illness in the state, 89.6% have insurance, 65.8% have their needs met, and 44.5% report receiving treatment.

On the other hand, the states with the most comprehensive mental health care are montanathe score is 75.53/100. Immediately following is wisconsin and vermont statethe score is 75.5 and 74.83Each.

Ohio has a score of 68.63/100. The percentage of adults suffering from mental illness and receiving treatment is 44.4. In addition, 71.7% said their needs were met and 89.8% had health insurance.
