From Ayurvedic treatments to Tibetan massages, Alaya Furniturewala’s “mental health break” seemed as fulfilling as ever

It’s no secret to her Instagram followers that Alaya F. has an unwavering commitment to work, fitness, and healthy eating. Taking on too many work responsibilities can take a toll on your health. So how did she overcome the stress and clear her mind? By taking her “first solo trip of her life.” She documented the experience on Instagram, emphasizing the need for a “mental health break.” “10 days ago, in the middle of a very stressful day, I realized I was burnt out and desperately needed a ‘mental health break.’ So I decided to get away from all the chaos and go on my first solo trip of my life,” Alaya wrote.

Alaya told social media users how she spent the past five days, adding: “I went to the mountains for Ayurvedic treatments, Tibetan massage, acupuncture, reflexology, detoxed, meditated, swam, journaled and read a book that I’ve been meaning to read for ages.”

The Bollywood diva overcame her fears by ‘enjoying’ the same things she was previously scared to do. “I realised that the things I dreaded the most, like eating alone in a restaurant, were actually the things I enjoyed the most. I would sit for hours and enjoy some alone time with a good meal and a great book,” Alaya wrote in her confessional diary.

Urging her followers to step out of their comfort zones, Alayah said, “If you need a little push to get out of your comfort zone, this is your sign! Don’t wait for someone, just do it.” Though she didn’t reveal where she was out, she did admit to taking some “happy random photos” from her hotel room while she was out, even though she was taking a “digital detox” route. The photos included a few selfies and glimpses of her reading session. A hot cup of coffee with cookies and a warm bath rounded out the self-care day. Like Alayah, it’s always a good idea to stop, think, and de-stress in order to be more productive.
