CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library will host a one-hour program introducing participants to the transformative practice of mindfulness meditation with licensed therapist Robert G. Schneider of Rockland in the Picker Room on Thursday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. The program will be in-person only.
In a world of constant change, upheaval, and constant connection, anxiety is on the rise.
“Through the practice of mindfulness, we can learn to reduce anxiety and other disturbing emotions and cultivate inner peace,” CPL said in a news release.
Led by an experienced instructor, this session offers a combination of theoretical understanding and practical exercises. Participants will explore the origins of mindfulness, understand its role in managing anxiety, and practice techniques to cultivate present moment awareness.
The session will end with a Q&A session, providing you with an opportunity to discuss your experiences and clarify any doubts.
“Whether you are new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, this program will provide valuable insights into cultivating a more peaceful and mindful outlook on life,” CPL said.
No prior experience is necessary, come experience the benefits of mindfulness meditation.
Robert G. Schneider, MS, LCPC-c, is a Rockland-based therapist with nearly 25 years of experience in mindfulness meditation. He also The Guru’s TouchA semi-autobiographical novel, his study and practice of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism informs his therapeutic approach, blending traditional counselling techniques with mindfulness to support his clients’ mental and emotional wellbeing.
