It seems like every decade has its own signature wellness fad. In the 1990s, the low-fat craze swept across America with decadent, guilt-free ducks. The early 2000s ushered in the low-carb boom, with the introduction of Atkins and South Beach programs. And while terms like “ancestral diet” and “plant-based” are thrown around a lot today, a surprising new frontrunner is fasting.

Fasting, the simple practice of abstaining from food or certain drinks for a period of time, is becoming increasingly popular. Also.
