Equinox is raising the prices of its pricey gym memberships.
The New York-based luxury fitness club, which has 300 locations across the US, announced the launch of Optimize by Equinox, which the brand calls a “groundbreaking holistic health optimization program.”
Membership in the program costs $40,000 a year, but includes more than just access to weight training and yoga classes.

Equinox has partnered with full-body testing company Function Health.
The company says its technology measures each member’s unique biometric data and “unleashes the peak of human potential.”

The personalized data will be used to provide a “holistic view” of an individual’s health and create wellness programs that could include sleep and nutritional advice, massage therapy and personal fitness training.

The company says each member will be assigned a team of coaches.
These coaches guide members through three 60-minute training sessions per week, two nutrition coaching sessions per month, two sleep coaching sessions per month, and one massage therapy session per month.
Experts use over 100 biomarkers to assess hormone balance, vital nutrients, metabolic status, organ health and other risk factors.

Lab tests are also performed every six months to track changes and improvements.
The program is said to include all the benefits of a traditional Equinox membership.
The company says Optimize by Equinox will initially launch in New York City and Highland Park, Texas.

Julia Krim, vice president of strategic partnerships and business development at Equinox in New York, commented on the new service in a statement to Fox News Digital.

In an April press release, Function Health co-founder Dr. Mark Hyman called the partnership “a historic moment when wellness moves out of the doctor’s office and beyond the health club.”
