Funcom has released a new trailer and set of screenshots for the open-world survival massively multiplayer online game. Dune: Awakening Second in the game Dune: Awakening Direct showcase.

The showcase offers 30 minutes of in-depth interviews and game footage illustrating character creation, the MMO-like server structure, the narrative influences of a world where Paul Atreides never came into being, and the spiritual journey players will undergo in-game as they follow in the footsteps of the Fremen.
Dune: AwakeningRecently surpassing one million wishlists on Steam, leverages the visual and aural identity created by Denis Villeneuve and Legendary’s recent blockbuster films, while remaining deeply rooted in Frank Herbert’s original masterpiece. The game drops players into a vast, open, war-torn world called Arrakis, where they must survive alongside hundreds of other players and compete for control of the spice.
Debuting at Summer Game Fest, the story cinematic “The Vision of Paul Atreides” reveals an alternate timeline created by Jessica Atreides choosing to give birth to a daughter in Paul’s place, setting off a chain of events. Paul’s absence creates a massive power vacuum for players to step into and craft their own story.
“Expression and customization” Dune: AwakeningTo give you a taste of what’s to come, the Direct introduces a robust in-game character creation tool, where you can choose every detail of your appearance, then choose your home planet and even your mentor’s specialization (Mentat, Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, etc.), which will determine your starting abilities.
Creative director Joel Bairos also detailed the server structure and the Overland map that will tie together the various huge sandbox maps and allow more players to join each one. Dune: Awakening Apart from many other survival games.

The idea of the landmass is to allow us to continue building the world and give players new spaces to explore. Who knows what it will look like in five years.”
Dune: Awakening recently entered a permanent closed beta, giving you access to the full extent of the game, from the starting area in Hagga Basin to the endgame in Deep Desert. Sign up to join on the official website and add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
With Gamescom coming up in August, Funcom is currently gearing up for an epic gameplay reveal of Dune: Awakening.
Dune: Awakening It’s in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). A release date has yet to be announced.
