“I tell my patients that if you eat a healthy diet and you’re a healthy adult, there’s no need to supplement with vitamins,” says Dr. Neha Vyas of the Cleveland Clinic. Told. “That said, if you’re pregnant or considering becoming pregnant, it’s a good idea to start taking a prenatal vitamin.”

Both men and women have different dietary tolerances for key nutrients. For example, for a woman between the ages of 19 and 50, it is recommended that in her daily diet she consumes 18 milligrams of iron. For a man of the same age group, he only has 8 milligrams.
