Desh Bhagat University has inaugurated its new Mahatma Buddha Meditation Centre, a peaceful haven for students, faculty and staff to cultivate inner peace and inner tranquility. The Mahatma Buddha Meditation Centre near the Vice Chancellor’s office was formally inaugurated by Chancellor Zohra Singh, Vice Chancellor Tajinder Kaur, Vice Chancellor Abhijit Joshi and President’s Advisor Dr. Virinder Singh, who gave a blessing of positivity and peace. The purpose of this dedicated centre is to improve the mental and spiritual health and academic success of the university family. Chancellor Zohra Singh said at the ceremony, “The meditation centre (Dhyan Kendra) is a symbol of our commitment to the overall wellbeing and success of our students. Our goal is to strengthen our community with the practice of inner peace while promoting a culture of inner peace, clarity and compassion.” Vice Chancellor Tajinder Kaur said the meditation centre offers guided sessions, workshops and resources for stress management, self-care and personal development. This time, Prof. Ajaypal Singh Shekhawat acted as chanter and stage director.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Davinder Kumar, Head of Department of Social Sciences and Linguistics, Dr Piyare Lal, Head of Department of Library Science, Dr Dharminder Singh, Dr Renu Sharma, Dr Jyoti Sharma, Dr Arvinder Kaur and other employees.
