- 2 tablespoons white miso
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 inch ginger (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2-1 tablespoon gochujang or your favorite sauce
- 1/2 cup cornstarch

- 1 tablespoon hemp or sesame seeds
- Thinly slice 2 spring onions
How to make crispy miso tofu [Vegan]
- Remove tofu from bag and drain excess water.
- Wrap the tofu block in a clean kitchen towel or several layers of paper towels to absorb moisture.
- Place the wrapped tofu on a plate and place something heavy, such as a cast iron skillet or a few books, on top of it to press the tofu.
- Press the tofu for at least 15-30 minutes, or up to an hour if you want it to be firmer. After pressing the tofu, cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Add miso, soy sauce, maple syrup, chopped ginger and garlic, rice vinegar, gochujang, and sesame oil to a bowl and mix well.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, making sure each tofu is well coated. Marinate tofu for at least 30 minutes.
- After marinating, remove the tofu from the bowl and carefully toss each tofu in the cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- When the tofu is crispy and golden brown, remove it from the pan and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired, and serve with your favorite dipping sauce or over rice.
