Being a mother on Mother’s Day means you want something done for you. Still, when it comes to any type of family celebration, you’re often the one who plans, prepares, and organizes to make it happen. That’s why I’m so interested in the idea of a relaxed brunch menu for Mother’s Day.
It’s a no-pressure meal with no preparation, so everyone can relax and enjoy it (yes, that includes mom). For this year’s holiday, I teamed up with Target to share her menu for a simple yet special Mother’s Day Brunch. Another reason I love this menu so much? Because all the ingredients are available at Good & Gather at Target. (Think same-day delivery now possible thanks to your new Target Circle 360 subscription.)
Perfect for celebrating your own mom, or even the mom you love to cook, gather, and celebrate yourself. (Promise me you’ll let someone else do the cooking.) Read on for menus, recipes, and my favorite Target finds to set your table this spring.
The easiest way to treat yourself on Mother’s Day
There are a wide variety of Mother’s Day gifts. I love receiving creative and sentimental cards from children and Adam is always a thoughtful gift giver. But I also look at the holidays as an opportunity to treat myself. Whether it’s special luxuries or simple, small things, it’s so important to pour into yourself. (Actually, how often do we do that?)
As you all know, I will take every opportunity to execute on my targets. That’s why I’m excited about the revamped Target Circle loyalty program. We offer a variety of products for home, food, beauty, fashion, and more, so I love how this program curates products that fit your lifestyle. Seriously, this is highly personalized and will help you create a beautiful, joy-filled life both at home and outside.

set the scene
Finally, Austin has great weather. That means eating in the backyard as much as possible for the foreseeable future. When it comes to outdoor entertaining, we focus on bright seasonal recipes and simple table setting ideas that enhance the atmosphere. It doesn’t take that much. Think of a beautiful tablecloth or rustic wooden serving board as the focal point of a minimalist table.
I stocked up on some great things at Target to take your table settings to the next level for your brunch, BBQ, or dinner party this summer. For me, the table is a place to be creative and express my style through food and aesthetics that bring me joy. It doesn’t take much to make your table truly special. In this piece, I used a textured throw as a tablecloth on a backyard table and white stoneware dinner plates as a canvas for seasonal foods. Rustic wooden serving pieces and glass jars filled with spring branches are the ultimate spring centerpiece.
The great thing about sticking to a mostly neutral palette is that they mix and match seamlessly. If you only have three or four bowls or cups of a certain type, alternating every other bowl or cup will make it look like it was made on purpose. It’s all about embracing imperfection, so don’t overthink it and just go with the flow.
Simple spring place setting
As mentioned earlier, we keep it simple. A neutral color palette makes it easy to keep things looking streamlined, while layering textures and complementary colors to create visual interest. I love the look of wicker combined with other bright colors. Pairs well with pinks, taupes and off-whites, and pairs with darker touches like browns and pops of green for a fresh look.
The use of a minimal table makes it easy to incorporate other materials into the design without creating too much contrast or overwhelming the table. Choose softer woven fabrics for napkins and tablecloths. And I love the look of these amber vases used as containers for freshly picked garden flowers.
This Mother’s Day brunch menu includes delicious yogurt bowls, crowd-pleasing farmers market frittatas, and an eye-catching lemon, raspberry, and almond cake (also grain-free). To make this gathering more enjoyable and less stressful, you can prepare everything in advance.

Grain-free lemon raspberry almond cake
This remarkable dish is not only beautiful to look at, but also satisfying in taste. Sweet raspberries and citrusy lemon combine with nutty almond flavors to create the most spring-like dessert. This recipe is packed with some powerful ingredients that make this cake the best it can be. First, I love mixing whole milk ricotta into the dough. The cake turns out incredibly light, fluffy, and incredibly moist.
And since I started my journey to heal my gut, I’ve chosen to eat a grain-free diet. This will not only bring you the best mood but also help you stay creative in the kitchen. As a result, I’ve been able to experiment with countless alternative flours that make my favorite desserts grain-free and add their own special flavors and textures. This cake uses almond flour and features a nutty crumb. So no matter who you invite to Mother’s Day brunch, everyone will have a pampering time.

Market frittata with asparagus, goat cheese and potatoes
Frittatas are often chosen for a relaxed brunch. It’s super easy to prepare ahead of time and can be made with any combination of vegetables and herbs you have in your fridge. Featuring fresh asparagus, creamy goat cheese, and rustic potatoes, this version can be made ahead and served at room temperature. I love the combination of a frittata and an impressive presentation. Bring this to the table in a fancy skillet and we guarantee all your guests will be happy to eat it. My final favorite thing about this frittata? It’s just as crowd-pleasing as a quiche, but much easier to prepare.

Yogurt bowl with honey, berries and grain-free granola
Kids will love helping assemble the yogurt bowl. And if they are like me, it will be their favorite food too. Whole milk Greek yogurt (or my homemade probiotic yogurt) is topped with honey, berries, and crunchy grain-free granola. It’s pleasing to the eye and packed with nutrients.

We mixed tart grapefruit juice, honey syrup, mint, and Good & Gather sparkling water in a pitcher to create NA Bev, which is delicious for all ages. That said, I fully support topping it with prosecco. It’s delicious! Once stirred, the result is incredibly refreshing. Moreover, the pale pink hue of the drink perfectly matches the tablescape.
