Imagine this: you wake up on a sunny summer morning and the thermostat is already telling you that it’s about to get hot. Time to fire up the oven and bake some muffins? Well, we don’t think so. Hot summer mornings often make you feel like cooking even a simple breakfast recipe, but there’s no denying that if you don’t eat breakfast, your day is doomed to failure. Thankfully, Costco’s famous bakery section has the solution, and it’s tastier than ever. That’s because the warehouse giant has just added two seasonal muffin flavors to its bakery section. We don’t know whether we’re more excited about the returning flavor or the all-new flavor.
Instagrammer CostcoHotFinds called out the muffins. Costco has sold raspberry lemon muffins in the past, but this year they’re offering something different: They’re topped with a crunchy lemon streusel for a sweet-and-sour flavor. Plus, the muffins come wrapped in parchment paper instead of the usual paper wrappers, and come in packs of eight instead of the usual six. That means the muffins are a bit smaller, but honestly, it’s a lot more practical, since we usually only eat half a gigantic six-pack in one sitting.
Also available in packs of eight is a new muffin flavor that’s reminiscent of our favorite summer ice cream: butter pecan, and CostcoHotFinds reports that the muffins are buttery, soft, and moist.
The eight-pack of muffins retails for $6.99, and unlike Costco’s six-pack of muffins, you don’t have to buy two at a time. However, both flavors are so appealing, it’s no surprise that some people do. Many Costco shoppers on Reddit report that they tend to freeze a second pack of muffins, which is a great way to have a quick breakfast ready anytime, even on those hot summer days when no-cook recipes seem like a pain.
