CosRx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence has a lightweight, aqueous texture and is formulated with sodium hyaluronate, a powerful hyaluronic acid, along with hydrating glycerin and sea buckthorn water. According to the brand, the essence is formulated to soothe inflammation, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and improve overall skin tone. CosRx also says that it’s non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores, and is free of parabens, sulfates, fragrances, and other common irritants, making it safe for sensitive skin.
The brand recommends pumping a few times onto the face and neck and gently patting or massaging. In my experience, a little goes a long way. I apply it after my toner and before a heavier serum, followed by my moisturizer, for maximum absorption.

Trying out different products is the domain of the shopping expert, but I always come back to CosRx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra-Power Essence for three reasons.
Long-lasting moisture
In my experience, it’s not easy to find hydrating products for oily skin, and very few that actually balance my skin, but this essence is an exception. The issues I have around the change of seasons, like dry tightness and general dullness, are usually resolved after one use, but over time (with continued use, of course), my skin tone and texture evens out, and my complexion looks brighter.
It will keep you hydrated through all your activities, be it at the gym, at work or in your daily life. It might be a little too light for those with dry skin, but you can mix it with a stronger moisturizer or moisturizer for extra benefits if needed.
Rapidly Absorbed Formula
I’m not the best at time management, so I really appreciate how quickly this essence absorbs into my skin (within a minute to be exact), especially when I’m about to miss my train. And even when I don’t want to wait for it to fully absorb (usually because I’m too tired or behind schedule), this essence pairs well with other products and leaves no residue behind.
Lightweight and non-sticky finish
Every time I apply this essence, I feel like I’ve had a facial (at a fraction of the price). While hyaluronic acid serums are often too thick for me, CosRX’s essence is the lightest moisturizer I’ve ever tried. Plus, it leaves a fresh, non-greasy finish, which is a dream for those with oily skin.
