The American Cancer Society says that in 2024, approximately 5,500 people will be diagnosed with cancer each day. Starting in May, his UnityPoint Health in Rock Island is offering free interactive cooking courses that show how nutrition affects cancer.
Cooking with Heart for Cancer is an interactive, hands-on class for cancer survivors, caregivers, and loved ones. The dishes prepared in class demonstrate how nutrition can help reduce the risk of cancer and cancer recurrence. Participants will learn about her eight (or more) delicious dishes and how to make them during the session. The class is one hour long and includes two dish preparation demonstrations. Each recipe includes ingredients that are affordable and take little time to prepare. Classes will begin on his May 7th and will be held every Tuesday for four weeks from 12pm to 1pm at Unity Point – Trinity Heart Center, 2701 17.th Rock Island street.

Cooking with Heart for Cancer, now in its fourth year at UnityPoint Health, has helped hundreds of people beat cancer with simple tips like eating the rainbow and learning how to make delicious whole foods.
