In a cozy corner of Buffalo’s newest cafe emporium, Raha Coffee House on Amherst Street, I had the opportunity to sit down with dynamic yoga instructor Chantelle Nicole. Her walk is as inspiring as the serenity she brings to her classes. With its rich Yemeni heritage and warm, intimate atmosphere, Raha Coffee House provided the perfect backdrop for our conversation. Raha is more than just a great coffee; it’s a place that celebrates tradition and hospitality, where every guest is a friend and every visit is an opportunity to make memories over great coffee.

Chantelle’s journey to yoga began with personal struggles, and she found solace and strength in yoga. She dedicated herself to yoga, becoming a certified yoga instructor and advocating for holistic health through teaching and events within the Buffalo community. “My yoga experience and journey has been one of deep healing and self-discovery,” she says, her eyes reflecting the depth of her transformation. “After experiencing the change yoga has brought to my life, I have had a strong desire to share this gift with my community.”
In the heart of Rochester, Dominic Piacentini promotes wellness through restorative practices as the founder of R4 Wellness & Consulting. His holistic approach integrates physical, mental and spiritual elements to guide individuals and communities towards positive connection and overall health. When asked about his passion, Dominic responded, “I have developed a passion for health, exploration and personal growth over the past few years. I have found great benefit from the experiences I have had on my personal journey and have developed a strong desire to share similar experiences with others in a way that is accessible and makes everyone feel welcome.”

Though Chantelle and Dominique’s paths are different, they converged through a chance connection on Instagram, nurtured by a shared passion for yoga and holistic health. This digital encounter blossomed into an amazing collaboration, leading to the hosting of a micro-wellness retreat, “Summer Sol at Riff City Social,” on June 30th.
Speaking with Chantelle amid the soothing aroma of Yemeni coffee, her passion for the event was clear. “By creating this circle, we hope to bring together a multifaceted community to educate and provide each person with different tools to help empower their own journey of healing and self-discovery,” she explained. Co-hosted by Chantelle and Dominic, the event embodies their shared vision of unity and collaboration. Participants can expect a day filled with community building, yoga, meditation, healing sound baths, and Reiki designed to foster connection and deepen well-being.

The event is about more than introducing yoga poses and meditation techniques; it’s about building bridges between communities. By bringing together talented facilitators and vendors from Buffalo and Rochester, Chantelle and Dominic aim to create a space where individuals can come together and nourish their body, mind, and soul. Dominic’s vision resonates strongly here. “I’ve met so many amazing people and friends in the wellness space in Rochester and Buffalo, and I hope to be able to play a small part in connecting vibrant individuals and groups in both cities to further our collective consciousness and well-being,” he reflected.
Further adding to this collaborative spirit is Amy Riposo of Rochester A-List. Chantelle’s testimony:
“I’ve attended several of Chantelle’s yoga events and am always amazed by the effort she puts into creating a calming, yet empowering environment. Not only are her yoga classes centered and invigorating, but the people I attend with are also knowledgeable and offer a variety of services I never even knew I needed. I can’t wait to attend Summer Sol in Rif City!” – Dani
“I have never felt such genuine calm in a class until I attended Chantelle’s yoga event. Something about Chantelle brings peace to the room that is comforting for yoga lovers at all levels. Not everyone can embrace the vulnerability of meditation or movement, but Chantelle’s classes have a strength and mindfulness that gives you the comfort you didn’t know you needed. She is well-traveled and experienced, so her practice feels well-rounded. She is someone I would feel comfortable bringing my 78 year old father to class with my 8 year old niece. She caters very well to beginners and brings the heat for more advanced yoga lovers. Chantelle’s events are by far my favorite yoga events in Buffalo, NY.” – Melinda
“Chantelle’s energy is warm and inviting, and her classes have a magical way of being energetic yet calming, challenging yet meditative. I love attending Chantelle’s classes and letting her guide me through my yoga journey!” – Elise
Dominic’s testimony:
“After being in and out of health my entire adult life, deciding to seriously embark on a health journey was a whirlwind of emotions. Top of the list? An intense combination of hope and fear. Dom and his team not only made that nearly impossible first step doable, but actually made it feel so good, empowering and safe. They erased the fear, lit up the hope and have me continuing on my path to authentic, joyful health. I look forward to more events!” – Jessica
“My experience at the Fall into Restoration event was absolutely amazing! I was a little nervous as I’d never done anything like this before and didn’t know what to expect. I’ve jumped in cold water before but it was only with a few people. The event was well attended and everyone was so welcoming. Everyone involved did a great job and I appreciated their energy.” – David
“DOM creates a beautiful, inclusive sense of community. There’s nothing more inspiring than being surrounded by a group of people who are all striving to better themselves.” – Jamie
