On Monday, Celine unveiled its most extreme lifestyle product yet: a leather-covered Pilates Reformer machine.
Embellished with Céline’s Triomphe monogram, this ridiculously luxurious piece of equipment is part of the brand’s dedicated Pilates collection. Fronted by model and famous Pilates enthusiast Kaia Gerber, the collection includes everything you need to do Pilates at home—no reformer machine required—including Céline-branded yoga mats, yoga blocks, hand weights, and kettlebells.
(Unfortunately, grip socks are not included in the lineup.)
Clearly, Céline has her finger on the pulse. Over the past year, Pilates has evolved into more than just a workout. Thanks to its legions of celebrity and influencer devotees, it’s become synonymous with a certain aspirational, ultra-optimized lifestyle. Think Erewhon smoothies, matching Alo Yoga sets, and Hydro Flask water bottles: the hallmarks of what TikTok is calling “Pilates Princesses.”
Pilates has become a cultural phenomenon, and in April Saturday Night Live The skit aired discussing the challenges of Pilates, and included a cameo from Kaia Gerber, further validating Celine’s decision to hire her as the face of its Pilates collection.
