New Delhi, June 30: The Central Council for Ayurvedic Scientific Research – Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurvedic Research Institute (CSMCARI) under the Ministry of Health, India on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy (CIM&H).
The MoU outlines a collaborative framework for testing services, providing training and carrying out joint projects on “research studies for standardization of selected higher-level medicines.”
The collaboration is aimed at carrying out testing of selected raw materials and finished products for standardisation of medicines, the AYUSH ministry said.
It also provides NABL certified training guidance to CIM&H laboratories.
“This MoU between CCRAS and CIM&H will set a precedent for other states in India, where they can collaborate with CCRAS and MoAyush on various research and development activities,” said Ravinarayan Acharya, executive director of CCRAS, Chennai.
The MoU marks an important step towards strengthening collaboration between these premier institutions with an aim to improve the quality and safety of Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines, promote collaborative research efforts, capacity building and knowledge exchange.
