The Insights and Evaluation team is integral to the data, research and content produced by the Energy Saving Trust. Their work ranges from calculating the savings that can be achieved through energy efficiency changes, to modelling the impact of new technologies, to providing content for energy efficiency training, researching consumer attitudes to government policies and evaluating the impact of programmes.
Although the teams work on projects individually, they share ideas and collaborate closely when tackling complex problems and scenarios, ensuring knowledge sharing and knowledge development are at the forefront of everything we do.

The Technical Manager role will be within the Energy Saving Trust’s Insights and Evaluation team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Insights and Evaluation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead Energy Saving Trust’s fast-growing and exciting Sustainability Consulting services. With renewed focus on Net Zero, many businesses and public sector organisations have made reducing carbon emissions a top priority. You will help these clients set ambitious ambitions and achieve them.
what will you do
You will be leading Energy Saving Trust’s net-zero offering for a diverse range of public and private sector clients, including developing products, growing the business line, training and leading a team of net-zero experts, calculating and reporting emissions, and executing net-zero plans aligned with science-based targets.
We apply our technical knowledge to develop optimal solutions for our clients across the entire Net Zero strategy development through desk reviews, data collection, data analysis, reporting and providing action plans and recommendations.
The ability to plan and prioritise work is essential in this busy environment, as well as effective communication skills to deliver a high level of customer service to people at all levels. Experience delivering Net Zero Consultancy will be fundamental to your success in this role.
What to bring
- ISO 14064-1 and SECR report with demonstrable experience of applying this in a commercial environment.
- Your ability to process data into meaningful insights combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to work with clients and positively influence and inform them to provide the insights they need.
- Ability to lead and develop a team to continue growing consulting services while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Ability to effectively manage clients with demonstrable experience working with external and internal clients and managing multiple clients simultaneously.
