On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center hosted its first-ever Cancer Survivorship Wellness Retreat, which included a day of activities for 30 cancer survivors and caregivers.
Canopy is a cancer survivorship located on the grounds of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is free and open to all men and women, regardless of where they received treatment or the type of cancer they have. Patients, caregivers, family members, and anyone whose life is affected, can find a safe haven at Canopy.

Canopy’s Cancer Survivor Retreat began with a morning of wellness focused activities, including breakfast, yoga, nutrition, and mind-body presentations in various rooms of the Survivor Center. Retreaters then enjoyed lunch before an afternoon of beauty focused activities, including a skincare and makeup session with licensed esthetician Michelle Moreau and a color analysis with House of Color consultant Morgan Keith. The retreat concluded with a toast to hope, resilience, and survivorship, followed by raffle prizes and gift bags for everyone.
All of the retreat instructors and committee members volunteered their time to make the first Canopy Cancer Survivor Retreat possible.
