As you get older, you might be looking for new workout methods to suit your changing body, and Brooke Shields, 59, is no exception. She admits that since recovering from a serious femur injury in 2021, it’s been harder to stay healthy than it was earlier in her career. Thankfully, the actress has found a “no-stress” workout that fits into her lifestyle and shows results.
“It’s harder to stay in shape now. It’s a lot easier to get out of shape quickly,” she said recently. From Today.com:That was a bit of a shock to me. The key for me was to find something that I really enjoy, instead of beating myself up at the gym to get things done, because that’s so demoralizing and so frustrating for me.”
That’s where Pilates, specifically the Nofer method, comes in. “I didn’t like Pilates before,” Shields recalls. But she loves that in Nofer classes, she leaves “soaking wet” after a “no-impact” workout. “It’s very special,” Shields adds.
The Nofar Method is a type of Pilates class that combines the most challenging elements of Pilates using cardio, strength training and the Reformer machine to provide an efficient, safe and results-driven workout.
In addition to taking classes, Shields says she’s cut back on her alcohol intake and does a little cardio, like SoulCycle classes or rowing to music, to maintain her weight. “I’ll just do 10 minutes, and you’ll see the weight coming off,” she says. [results]”It’s moved from just my butt before to my lower butt now, and it’s moved all over the place. It’s moved to other parts,” she laughed.
