Blue House Bakery & Cafe in Bryant is a small family-owned bakery, coffee shop, cafe and catering company serving delicious recipes passed down through generations.
BRYANT, Ark. — Located in Bryant, the heart of Saline County, Brewhouse Bakery & Cafe brings area residents together over great family recipes that have been passed down for generations.
Sisters Jill Averitt and Joy Bilson co-own the restaurant and say it’s a dream come true.
“In 2019 we decided to do this,” Jill said.
The inspiration for the name came from one of the homes they grew up in, the Blue House, where Joy discovered her love of baking. The house was actually built by their father and oldest brother, so it was a natural fit for the name of their bakery.
“We want people to come in and feel like family. They can come in and eat in the dining room, and we also have a front porch if they want to sit outside,” Jill added.
Joy has been using the same chocolate chip recipe since she was 10 years old, and she continues to use it at the Brewhouse.
“Almost all of our recipes are made from scratch. The biscuits are a recipe my mother has been making her whole life,” she said.
A fan favorite seems to be the biscuits with chocolate gravy, but the menu also features pancakes, breakfast burritos and summer avocado toast.
If you’re looking for lunch, they offer a variety of salads and sandwiches from 11am to 2pm, but be sure to check out the specials menu for a variety of options.
Blue House Bakery and Cafe is located at 305 Progress Way in Bryant.
